Exhibiting with Faringdon Artists for Oxfordshire Artweeks 18th and 19th May and 24th to 27th May
"Creative works shared by talented local artists in the historic Faringdon Old Town Hall."
Infusing art with the spirit of energy and motion, this farmyard collection emerges as an extension of my best-selling bird series. Through minimal application of linework and use of vibrant watercolours, this collection embodies a lively celebration of animal art, inviting viewers to interpret and connect with the charming characters that inhabit this playful world.
Inspiration for this new series came from the tender moments spent at farms with my little toddler. Observing the unbridled enthusiasm for every creature in the barnyard brought back cherished memories of my own childhood fascination with farms and their inhabitants. The connection between my past and his present forged a heartwarming bond, creating a bridge across generations and gave purpose for pursuing a new series of artistic works.
At the heart of my farmyard series, animals come to life with dynamic strokes, reminiscent of the carefree moments found in a bustling barnyard. From perfect piglets to cheerful lambs and contented cows, each character is depicted with simplicity, encouraging viewers to engage with the scenes through their own imaginative perspectives.
Through this collection, I aim to invite others into this world of enchantment, where the bond between farms, animals, and art converges to evoke a sense of joy, nostalgia, and the enduring beauty of simplicity. In every stroke, there lies a story.
